Accessible Church

Additional needs are wide ranging and can include any difficulty – physical, cognitive or mental health – that impacts an individual’s ability to participate in everyday activities.

Our Accessible Church ministry exists to enable people with additional needs, and their families, to participate as much as possible in all we do.

Our hope is that individuals and families feel welcome at United Breaks Out and have the opportunity to grow in the gifts that God has given them.

Kids Inclusion Support Team

Much of the content available in the New Wine Kids 0-4s and 5-11s sessions will be accessible for all children. In addition, the New Wine Kids inclusion team have created some resources to enable children with certain additional needs to be able to engage more fully with the Moses story themes.

For each daily session, the following resources are available to download:

  • Symbols to create a visual timetable
  • The Moses story written in simple text, with supporting symbols. (It may be helpful to print these out in larger than A4 format if you have children with visual impairment.)
  • Larger key word symbols to use as prompts
  • Suggestions for sensory and physical activities to support the daily theme

Please note – the symbols used in these resources are copyright of Widgit and not for sale or distribution outside of this event.

Luminosity Inclusion Support Team

Much of content of the Luminosity sessions can be accessed by most young people. In addition, the Luminosity inclusion support team have produced resources on the theme of the Beatitudes, which may be useful in enabling some young people who have additional needs to take part more fully.

Access

The Access team support adults with additional needs to be fully included in the family of God.
The team will be hosting an interactive Zoom session each morning at 10am. The Zooms will include worship, Bible teaching and prayer and will be tailored for adults with additional needs. Please email jess.thompson@new-wine.org for more information and Zoom link.

Breathe

Breathe creates space for parents and carers of children/adults with additional needs to connect with God and others like them. Join five brilliant and down-to-earth couples as they share stories of God’s truth with us and reflect on what it might mean in our own situations.

See the Breathe sessions in the Programme or find the full playlist on YouTube:

We also have four informal discussion/networking events running after the Evening Celebration on Zoom. To register for these, please join the Breathe Facebook group here
